About Knob Creek
Knob Creek Bourbon, launched in 1992 by Jim Beam, is named after Knob Creek Park in Kentucky where Abraham Lincoln spent part of his childhood. Lincoln’s parents, Thomas and Nancy, settled on Sinking Spring Farm in the early 1800s, where Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809. When Lincoln was two years old, his family moved to Knob Creek farm. The area is now known as the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park, and is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Part of Beam’s Small Batch Bourbon Collection, it was created under the leadership of Booker Noe, Jim Beam’s sixth-generation Master Distiller, with the aim of reviving the robust, full-bodied bourbons and ryes of the pre-Prohibition era.
