Kavalan Distillery kicks off 2025 with two new Duty Free exclusives, strengthening its presence in the Asian duty-free market.
The Taiwanese whisky maker has introduced its Grand Reserve series exclusively for Lotte Duty Free, featuring two expressions that showcase the distillery’s expertise with wine cask maturation. Both Grand Reserve No.1 and No.2 begin their journey in STR (shave, toast, rechar) Vinho wine casks.

Kavalan Grand Reserves Retail Exclusives
Grand Reserve No.1 receives additional maturation in Spanish Amontillado Sherry casks, while Grand Reserve No.2 undergoes further aging in both Madeira and Portuguese ruby Port casks with an MSRP of $127.
The series launched in South Korea on January 17, with plans to expand to Lotte Duty Free locations in Singapore, Guam, and Australia. The bottle labels showcase Taiwan’s Snow Mountain range in Yilan County, which provides the water source for Kavalan’s whisky production.
Kavalan’s Grand Reserve No.1 combines whisky aged in Vinho wine casks with spirit matured in Spanish Amontillado sherry casks. The distillery’s tasting notes highlight flavors of apricot jam, dried berries, and caramel cream.

Both expressions are bottled at 40% ABV and are exclusive to Lotte Duty Free.
