Johnnie Walker Launches Après-Ski Whisky, Perfect After A Day On The Slopes

Johnnie Walker has launched a new limited edition bottling: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet. The whisky has been created in collaboration with the luxury skiwear and lifestyle brand, Perfect Moment. In celebration of the launch, the Johnnie Walker Princes Street location has been transformed into the world of après-ski and ‘Blue Hour’ with ski-themed installations and Ice Chalet tasting experiences. 

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet was unveiled by Johnnie Walker Ambassador and Perfect Moment shareholder, Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The bottle will be accompanied by a cross-body bag designed by Perfect Moment. The bottle and the bag are now available to buy at Johnnie Walker Princes Street for £320. 

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet 

Ice Chalet was created by Master Blender, Emma Walker, from 10,000 casks that met the steep requirements for the blend. The resulting whisky is rich with “notes of cinnamon-spiced apple that give way to warm cloves and spices before finishing with subtle hints of Alpine smoke.” Johnnie Walker hopes that the whisky will be “perfect after a day on the slopes.”

Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker Master Blender commented: “When creating Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet, we set out to blend a whisky that was inspired by the Alpine landscape and captured the magic of special Après Ski moments. Using Met Office data, we uncovered rare expressions that were distilled in the depths of some of Scotland’s coldest winters and blended these with whiskies from some of our most northern, and highest altitude distilleries, including Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Brora, to create a velvety smooth Scotch with Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s signature depth of flavour at its heart.”

The Perfect Moment Cross-Body Bag 

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet will be presented with a cross-body bag, designed by Perfect Moment. The North Star and Houndstooth print bag is crafted from deep blue material that emulates the Johnnie Walker Blue Label. 

Initially, the whisky is housed in the bag. Once the whisky is removed, the bag can be worn across the body as a piece that “effortlessly transitions from slopes to city.”

The Blue Label Ice Chalet Experience 

Johnnie Walker’s Princes Street venue has been a must-visit destination for scotch whisky lovers since its opening three years ago. The venue attracts visitors from across the globe to experience Johnnie Walker’s innovations such as the recently announced 90% paper-based bottle trial

The Blue Label Ice Chalet experience at the Princes Street venue offers customers the chance to sample the new expression in an environment that emulates ‘Blue Hour’ – the time in the day when skiing ends and socializing starts.

In addition to the Princes Street venue, Ice Chalet will be showcased at a number of global events in luxury Après Ski locations starting in January.
