James B. Beam Distilling Co., makers of iconic whiskeys such as Jim Beam, Knob Creek, and Booker’s Bourbon, has launched the Beam Private Barrel Club. For the first time ever, whiskey fans can purchase a single barrel of whiskey for bottling at the distillery.

Knob Creek will be the first brand to launch the program, with barrels of bourbon and rye on offer for purchase.

Beam Private Barrel Club

The Beam Private Barrel Club experience will immerse whiskey fans in the inner workings of James B. Beam Distilling, with a one-of-a-kind selection experience. Guests will be guided deep into the company’s rackhouses and allowed to explore the nuances of multiple barrels, shaped by their location in the warehouse and individual barrel characteristics, before making a selection. The experience is designed to give whiskey fans an unparalleled and immersive experience, furthering their connection to the brand.

“The Beam Private Barrel Club is something we’ve been working on for years– even decades now,” shares Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller. “As we celebrate the 230th year of Jacob Beam selling his first barrel, we want to commemorate this milestone by further welcoming whiskey lovers into our family offering members the ability to own a barrel, exclusively their own. As the sign says, come as friends, leave as family, and the new Beam Private Barrel Club does just that.”

How Does It Work?

  • Individuals, whiskey clubs, families, or friends can join the Beam Private Barrel Club by submitting a booking request through the Beam Private Barrel Club Booking Link.
  • Once enrolled, a Legacy Ambassador from The James B. Beam Distilling Co.’s Clermont Campus will reach out to confirm the experience and serve as your primary contact for the barrel selection process.
  • On the day of the Beam Private Barrel Club Experience, a Legacy Ambassador will lead guests on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the James B. Beam Distilling Co. Campus. This includes a visit to the Fred B. Noe Distillery, where guests will learn about 230 years of Beam family production traditions. This private, curated tour is not available to the general public.
  • After the tour, the group will head to a rackhouse to sample and evaluate a selection of single barrel bourbons or ryes, following the time-honored practices of eight generations of Master Distillers.
  • Guests will then select their preferred barrel, which will be reserved and eventually bottled. Each barrel will be crafted into exclusive bottles featuring a personalized label with up to 41 unique characters. Members will receive bottling and collection dates from the Legacy Ambassador, along with regular updates on the progress of their custom barrel.
  • As part of the experience, guests can enjoy a special lunch at The Kitchen Table, the acclaimed on-campus restaurant inspired by the original Beam family kitchen table.
  • Following the visit, the Legacy Ambassador will keep members informed about their barrel’s progress. Once bottling is complete, all bottles must be collected and paid for in full at The James B. Beam Distilling Co.

Details & Benefits

The selection process accommodates up to eight guests, making it perfect for groups of friends, families, or clubs. Once a barrel is chosen, bottling takes approximately 90 to 120 days, with the final bottles to be picked up and purchased from the American Outpost. Pricing is determined by the bottled yield, typically ranging from 100 to 175 bottles per barrel, with prices starting at $59.99 per bottle. To secure your barrel, a non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required at booking, which will be applied to the final cost.
