The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has released the Hardin’s Creek Warehouse Series, a limited-edition, three-part collection of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys. The series, comprising bottlings aged in Warehouse R, Warehouse W, and Warehouse G, aims to demonstrate how different maturation environments shape a whiskey’s final flavor profile.

This launch is the latest chapter for the brand’s experimental line, which first debuted in 2022 with Jacob’s Well and Colonel James B. Beam.

The brand followed those releases with The Kentucky Series in 2023, which explored terroir by aging whiskey at the company’s different campuses in Clermont, Frankfort, and Boston.

For the Warehouse Series, eighth-generation master distiller Freddie Noe used an identical mash bill for all three expressions but aged them in warehouses with distinct architectures and microclimates.

“The Warehouse Series embodies the spirit of exploration that defines Hardin’s Creek – experimentation, discovery, and storytelling,” said Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller, James B. Beam Distilling Co.

“By holding every variable constant except the warehouse itself, we’re able to demonstrate the unique impact maturation environments have on the spirit,” Noe added.

The first bottling, Warehouse R “The Mushroom,” was aged in a rare, single-story warehouse with no windows, resulting in a whiskey with deep oak influence.

Warehouse W “The Beaver” matured in a five-story, nearly century-old rickhouse located next to a creek. This environment is said to yield a whiskey with balanced depth and lighter oak smoke.

The final expression, Warehouse G “The Owl,” comes from a towering nine-story structure, producing a whiskey with layered aromatics.

To create the brand identity for the series, Hardin’s Creek partnered with surrealist artist Max Loeffler. Each bottle’s design features a character and symbols that offer hints about the warehouse’s location, age, and proof.

All three whiskeys in the Hardin’s Creek Warehouse Series carry an 11-year age statement and are bottled at 55% ABV.

The whiskeys are available now in select U.S. markets for a suggested retail price of $149.99 per 700ml bottle.
