A bottle containing whiskey from 1991 sits at the center of Heaven Hill’s latest release, marking the opening of a new Kentucky distillery after more than three decades.
Heaven Hill Distillery has released Heaven Hill Master Distillers Unity, a limited-edition bourbon priced at $225 that combines the last barrel from its original Old Heaven Hill Springs Distillery with newer whiskeys. The release commemorates the opening of the new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
The bourbon brings together four different ages of whiskey. The centerpiece is a 34-year-old barrel distilled in 1991 by Parker Beam at the original distillery. This rare whiskey is mingled with 14-year-old, 8-year-old, and 6-year-old bourbons produced at Bernheim Distillery by Beam, Denny Potter, and current Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll.

The limited release consists of just 27 barrels, yielding approximately 4,000 bottles. Each bottle is filled at 107 proof, matching the barrel entry proof used at the original distillery. The bourbon follows Heaven Hill’s traditional recipe of 78% corn, 12% malted barley, and 10% rye.
The official tasting notes describe a deep copper color with aromas of sweetness, oak, and warm spice. The flavor profile includes butterscotch, chocolate, caramel, pecans, and toasted almonds. The finish features aged oak and warm spice.
The release represents a homecoming for Heaven Hill, which is returning to Bardstown with its new facility.
Heaven Hill Returns to Bardstown with Master Distillers Unity Release
“This release represents both a tribute to our past and a toast to our future,” said Conor O’Driscoll, Heaven Hill Master Distiller. “By uniting the last available barrel from the Old Heaven Hill Springs Distillery with carefully chosen selections produced at Bernheim Distillery, we are weaving together generations of dedication, artistry, and vision. It is a rare opportunity to share a Bourbon that tells the story of where we’ve been, while also celebrating where we are going.
“Heaven Hill Master Distillers Unity is not just a bottle—it is a living legacy, a bridge between our past and present created to mark one of the most important milestones in Heaven Hill’s journey and in the broader Bourbon industry.”
With only 4,000 bottles available, Heaven Hill Master Distillers Unity is expected to sell out quickly.
