Grasmere Distillery has launched The Pioneers Club, a membership program offering ownership of its first three English single malt whisky releases. The club provides members with three limited-edition bottles, delivered annually from Christmas 2027 to 2029, alongside other exclusive benefits.

Membership in The Pioneers Club is priced at £335.

Each annual release is limited to 1,000 bottles and will be drawn from one of only six casks being released that year.

The package includes a complimentary bottle of the distillery’s single-origin Rioja cask rum, which is scheduled for public release in 2026.

Additional benefits include a lifetime 10% discount at the Grasmere Tap Room, a free distillery tour for four people, and priority access to future limited-edition whiskies.

Paul Abbott, co-founder and head distiller, said: “We have been amazed by the positive response: hundreds of people backing us and cheering us on, joining our Pioneers Club in just the first two weeks. It is incredible.”

He added: “We are a tiny startup distillery without big resources, so we rely totally on the whisky-lovers out there to help us bring our single malt to the market.”

The distillery notes that over a third of the available memberships have already been sold.

“The Pioneers Club represents the very beginning of our whisky journey,” Abbott continued. “We wanted to offer something unique to those brave few who have supported us from the start. Every bottle reflects our commitment to flavor, craftsmanship and curiosity. We’re excited to share these first releases with people who value small-batch whisky.”

Co-founders Paul and Beth Abbott established the English distillery in 2021, transforming two barns on the shores of Lake Grasmere into a small but characterful distillery. The pair launched Grasmere Gin and Grasmere Vodka in 2022, reinvesting revenues to fund the company’s move into single malt whisky production.

Grasmere Distillery utilizes varied mash bills and a distinctive Solera maturation system. Casks are sourced from Speyside Cooperage and include ex-bourbon, brandy, and red wine barrels, along with casks seasoned in-house with rum and cider.
