Scottish whisky producer The GlenAllachie Distillers Company has announced its most anticipated peated release yet, with previous editions selling out rapidly and creating exceptional demand among whisky collectors worldwide.
The Meikle Tòir Turbo 2025 Edition marks the third installment in the distillery’s annual small-batch peated series, priced at £55.99 and bottled at 50% ABV. The limited release was unveiled today, September 2nd, continuing the distillery’s tradition of producing intensely peated whisky for just six weeks annually.
GlenAllachie’s Meikle Tòir Turbo 2025 Edition Features Intense Peat Character
The new expression achieves its distinctive profile through mainland peat sourced from St. Fergus and a carefully controlled production process. Master Distiller Billy Walker captures the spirit cut at 72 parts per million (PPM) phenolic content, more than double the 35 PPM found in the core Meikle Tòir range.
The whisky undergoes a 160-hour fermentation period before spending five years maturing in virgin oak casks and oloroso sherry hogsheads. This extended process contributes to what the distillery describes as enhanced complexity in the final product.
“Meikle Tòir has been met with incredible enthusiasm, with every Turbo release to date selling out at remarkable speed,” Walker said. “What sets Turbo apart is the way we push peat to its maximum while still allowing the spirit’s signature heather honey character to shine through.”
Production Details Reveal GlenAllachie’s Limited Peated Output
The distillery’s peated production represents just one-tenth of its total spirit output, yielding approximately 100,000 liters of alcohol annually. This limited production window makes the Turbo editions particularly sought after among whisky enthusiasts.

Official tasting notes describe aromas of manuka honey, toasted caramel and smoked cedarwood. The palate features heather honey, roasted hazelnuts, mocha and smoldering oak, finishing with dark chocolate and plum jam notes.
The release follows two single cask Meikle Tòir bottlings launched in July 2025. An online-exclusive 6-year-old oloroso sherry hogshead sold out within 24 hours, while a distillery-exclusive 7-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead still has limited availability.
All Meikle Tòir expressions carry a minimum five-year age statement and are presented without chill filtration or added coloring. The packaging features artwork by Scottish illustrator Iain McIntosh and uses UK-sourced materials to reduce environmental impact.
The Meikle Tòir brand represents Walker’s first distillate project after acquiring GlenAllachie in 2017. Since then, he has refined the production process to create what the company calls a “bolder, peated new-make spirit.”
The Meikle Tòir Turbo 2025 Edition is currently available at The GlenAllachie Distillery and through their online shop, with global distribution planned very soon.
