The Glasgow Distillery has added Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bourbon Cask Matured to its core range, marking the second expression in its extended age-statement lineup. The eight-year-old whisky combines equal parts unpeated and peated double distilled single malt, bottled at 54% ABV cask strength.
The release follows Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish, which launched earlier this year.

This inaugural batch marries six first-fill ex-bourbon casks – three unpeated and three peated. Production is limited to 1,400 bottles with a recommended retail price of £57.
“Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish and Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured embody our experimental spirit and expertise in cask management, bridging our well-loved Signature Range of peated, unpeated and triple distilled expressions and experimental Small Batch Series,” said Mike Hayward, founder of The Glasgow Distillery.
The whisky will be available in the UK and select export markets from November 4.
“By focusing solely on bourbon cask maturation, this new release offers a pure expression of spirit-led character, celebrating the essence of The Glasgow Distillery’s craftsmanship without an overly heavy cask influence,” Hayward added.
Official tasting notes from the brand describe vanilla, floral honey, sweet smoke, citrus fruit, buttery shortbread and tropical undertones with a long finish.
The launch comes during a significant year for The Glasgow Distillery, which celebrated 10 years of whisky production in March. Its commemorative 10-year-old single malt sold out in under 20 minutes when released in April.
The distillery opened to visitors for the first time in July with tours selling out for the initial six-month period.
Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured will feature at Glasgow’s Whisky Festival at Hampden Park on November 8, where The Glasgow Distillery serves as headline sponsor.
The distillery has also been nominated for Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards.
The new expression continues The Glasgow Distillery’s focus on innovative cask management and experimental whisky production techniques that blend traditional and modern approaches.
