Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas, recently hosted the 7th annual Red, White & Bourbon event – a ticketed fundraiser that raises money for worthy causes. This year, the event raised over $75,000 for Admiral Nimitz Foundation’s National Museum of the Pacific War.
The National Museum of the Pacific War provides the nation’s most comprehensive account of World War II as it played out in the Asiatic-Pacific theater.
Red, White & Bourbon
Hosted at the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas, Red, White & Bourbon featured live music from Jazz Daddies, delicious food prepared by The Whiskey Shack and Garrison Brothers Distillery, and (of course) specially curated craft bourbon cocktails.
Additionally, Garrison Brothers fans were given the chance to wax dip their very own bottles of Garrison Brothers bourbon in red, white, and blue wax.
Live and silent auctions were also held. Lots included a bottle of Garrison Brothers Hurricane Tough, two cask-strength bourbon tastings with distiller Samantha Olvera, and bourbon barrels handpainted by local artists.
Over 500 people were in attendance at the fundraiser, and raised over $75,000 to benefit the National Museum of the Pacific War.
“Recognizing our veterans and war heroes is in the DNA of Garrison Brothers and we could not be prouder to support the National Museum of the Pacific War right here in our backyard, in Fredericksburg,” shares Dan Garrison, Founder of Garrison Brothers Distillery. “Red, White & Bourbon is more than just a fundraiser, it is a tribute to American history, service, and community.”

Also at the fundraiser, Dan Garrison introduced guests to retired US Army Brigadier General Steve Salazer, who is the new CEO and president of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation.
“We are very fortunate to have friends, neighbors and patriots like Dan and Nancy Garrison. The support of the entire Garrison Distillery Team means a great deal to the family of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation and National Museum of the Pacific War,” says Salazer. “Without the support of great Americans like Dan and Nancy, we would not be able to accomplish our important mission.”
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation’s National Museum of the Pacific War
The National Museum of the Pacific War was founded in 1967 and is the only US institution dedicated to providing accounts of World War II as fought in the Pacific and Asiatic regions. Welcoming over 120,000 visitors per year, the museum sits on a six-acre property and has over 55,000 square feet of exhibition space with media installations and around 900 artifacts.
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation, named after Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, was founded in 1971 and works to raise funds for the museum and manage its operations.
Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz (1885-1966) was the Commander in Chief of the US Pacific Fleet during World War II, commanding Allied air, land, and sea forces.
