Texas’ first legal whiskey distillery, Garrison Brothers, is marking its 15th anniversary with a significant shift in distribution and a renewed conservation partnership.
Collaboration With The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation
Master Distiller Donnis Todd has hand-selected 11 single barrels for a special Balmorhea Cask Strength edition, yielding 1,000 bottles priced at $230. The distillery will contribute $50 from each bottle sale to TPWF’s conservation efforts.
“For the second year in a row, Garrison Brothers has chosen TPWF as a beneficiary of its Texas Independence Day celebration proceeds,” said TPWF Executive Director Anne Brown. “It’s fitting that a whiskey named after Texas’ iconic oasis in the desert will help conserve the wild things and wild places of Texas.”

Garrison Brothers Balmorhea & Limited Cask Strength Bourbon
The Balmorhea expression pays tribute to the world’s largest spring-fed pool at Balmorhea State Park. The bourbon undergoes a unique aging process, spending four years in new American white oak barrels before being transferred to fresh oak for an additional year.
Master Distiller Donnis Todd describes the 115-proof bourbon as “bourbon candy in a bottle.”
“Garrison Brothers Balmorhea Bourbon Whiskey, at 115 proof, twice-barreled, is true celebration of Texas freedom,” Todd continues. “Since day one, Balmorhea has been making an impact in Texas and beyond. Now in its eighth year, the distinct cherry mahogany bold bourbon, majestically crafted, plays a coveted role in our permanent collection.”
Distillery Event
The limited edition cask strength bottles will be available exclusively at a special event at the distillery on March 1, 2025, coinciding with Texas Independence Day celebrations that weekend. The event, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature live music by local artist Noah Kurtis.
This release marks a significant milestone for Garrison Brothers, as the distillery celebrates 15 years since selling its first bottle of Texas bourbon in 2010.
