Frey Ranch’s Farm-To-Glass Approach
The distillery’s approach to whiskey production stems from generations of farming expertise. Co-founder and Whiskey Farmer Colby Frey emphasizes the distillery’s focus on grain quality and sustainable agriculture practices.
“We’re excited to introduce the Frey Ranch portfolio to Colorado and Illinois – giving these markets a taste of true farm-to-glass whiskey with the grains we grow and harvest exclusively on our farm,” said Frey. “What’s also exciting is the groundswell of interest in estate distilling across the wider whiskey world. Frey Ranch has always centered the conversation around the importance of grains in whiskey production, and we look forward to sharing our knowledge with bartenders, retailers, and ultimately consumers, about farming, terroir, and common-sense sustainability.”
Estate Distilling Movement
As one of the few genuine farm-to-glass operations globally, Frey Ranch represents a growing movement in the spirits industry that emphasizes complete production control and agricultural expertise. The distillery’s expansion comes at a time when consumers increasingly value transparency in production methods and sustainable farming practices.
“Be Good To the Land & The Land Will Be Good To You”
The Frey family’s commitment to sustainable farming practices runs deep, with their distillery venture emerging from a desire to create distinctive products from their carefully cultivated grains. This dedication to land stewardship is encapsulated in their family motto, “Be good to the land and the land will be good to you,” which appears on every bottle of Frey Ranch whiskey.
