The Distillers One of One charity auction, a key event in the scotch whisky calendar, is set to return for its third edition on October 10, 2025, at the historic Hopetoun House near Edinburgh. In collaboration with Sotheby’s, the auction will feature 40 unique lots from 36 renowned distilleries, each crafted to support the Youth Action Fund. Since its inception in 2021, the auction has raised £4.3 million ($5.25 million), significantly impacting the lives of young people in Scotland.

Unique Auction Lots Set New Standards

The upcoming Distillers One of One auction showcases some of the rarest whisky lots ever seen. Among the highlights is a unique Port Ellen whisky, presented in a bespoke glass sculpture, celebrating the distillery’s 200th anniversary. The lot includes an exclusive experience at the Port Ellen Distillery for the buyer and three guests, featuring the Atlas of Smoke tour. Diageo’s contribution is a testament to the distillery’s rich history and innovative spirit.

Additionally, Campari Group is presenting “The Glen Grant Eternal 77-Year-Old,” the oldest whisky in this year’s auction. This rare single malt, drawn from a Sherry-seasoned European oak Butt filled in 1948, is presented in a handblown glass magnum decanter. Inspired by the distillery’s Garden of Splendours, the vessel symbolizes the whisky’s evolution within the cask over seven decades.

Chivas Brothers brings two exceptional lots from The Glenlivet and Aberlour distilleries. “The Glenlivet SPIRA,” a 60-year-old single malt, is housed in a Spira decanter, reflecting the elegance and smoothness of the distillery’s iconic stills. Meanwhile, Aberlour’s “The Mouth of the Chattering Burn” offers a 53-year-old single malt in a handblown magnum glass decanter, crafted with intricate carvings.

Other offerings include Laphroaig Capsule – a 40-year-old whisky presented a 1.5-liter, handblown crystal decanter and platinum-plated capsule.

The Glendronach Arias in Time, presented by Brown-Forman, was crafted by Master Blender Rachel Barrie to represent “a symphonic journey through time at The Glendronach.”

Philanthropy and Innovation Drive the Auction

The Distillers One of One auction is not merely about rare whiskies; it embodies a philanthropic spirit aimed at transforming young lives. Beanie Espey-Geraedts, MD of Distillers One of One, highlights the importance of this initiative: “The work being done by the Youth Action Fund is truly impressive, and the results speak for themselves – the scale of impact is really incredible.”

The auction’s commitment to charity is reflected in its support for the Youth Action Fund, which has engaged over 3,300 young people since 2022. The initiative has provided crucial employability outcomes, including apprenticeships and further education, while achieving significant milestones in literacy, numeracy, and personal development.

Jonny Fowle, Global Head of Spirits at Sotheby’s, emphasizes the auction’s unique nature: “Distillers One of One is the apex at which whisky meets art and luxury. It is remarkable that so many whisky brands have generously donated pieces of such high age, high quality and highly creative concepts.”
