An Edinburgh-based whisky startup has reported remarkable financial growth following its success at Scotland’s largest business funding competition, with revenues surging 900% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025.
Tailored Spirits Co. secured £100,000 at the Scottish Edge competition in 2024, providing the foundation for rapid international expansion. The company now operates across 14 countries, serving clients ranging from private cask owners to global corporations.
The startup’s Q1 2025 figures represent a dramatic increase from £110,000 recorded in the same period last year. This growth positions the company among the fastest-expanding whisky businesses in the UK market.
Tailored Spirits Co. Launches First Whisky Series After International Expansion
The company has acquired new clients across multiple continents, including partners in the UK, Ireland, Europe, South Africa, Asia, and the United States. This international reach demonstrates the global appetite for Scottish whisky expertise and bespoke bottling services.
In early 2025, Tailored Spirits Co. launched The Experimental Series – three limited-edition single cask whiskies designed to showcase innovative maturation techniques. The collection includes a Croftengea Loch Lomond 7-year-old priced at £59.50, with only 52 bottles produced, a Fettercairn 13-year-old at £74.50, limited to 84 bottles, and an Ardmore 8-year-old costing £64.50, with 60 bottles available.
The tasting notes for The Experimental Series reflect the uniqueness of each whisky. The Croftengea offers pine forest and toasted caramel notes, while the Fettercairn features leather and caramelized plums, and the Ardmore presents Manuka honey and butterscotch characteristics.

The startup operates with a “from the warehouse to your house” approach, offering comprehensive guidance throughout the spirits bottling process. Co-founder Adam Harding emphasized the company’s mission to connect whisky enthusiasts with industry-level expertise.
Scottish Whisky Industry Sees Growing Demand for Bespoke Services
“We started our company to take lovers of whisky on a journey and to connect them to industry level expertise on an individual level,” Harding said. “The growth of our company stems from our passion and relentless commitment to quality – but also the connections we have made.”
Tailored Spirits Co. was founded by three industry professionals: Tom Costello handles brand and creative operations, Carl Johnstone manages commercial and operational aspects, and Adam Harding leads spirits, sales, and strategy development.
The company plans additional international partnerships and product launches throughout 2025 as it continues expanding its global client base.
