The 11-acre complex, scheduled to open in late 2026, will feature a craft distillery, nanobrewery, innovation lab, startup incubator, and immersive experience center.

The project marks a significant expansion of Diageo’s craft spirits initiative in India. The company has seen huge success with its single malt brand, Godawan, this year.

The location of the project holds historical significance as the site where India’s first single malt whisky was once produced.

The Good Craft Co. Expands Beyond Bangalore

The new facility builds on the success of The Good Craft Co.’s existing Flavour Lab in Bangalore. The Goa complex will offer a comprehensive craft spirits ecosystem that includes a spice walk, botanical trail, and India Rare Spirits vault housing Diageo India’s luxury cask program.

Visitors will have access to certified beverage courses through The Academy, seasonal cocktail menus at the craft bar, and guided distillery tours. The retail destination will offer bespoke craft spirits alongside the tasting room experience.

“The Good Craft Co. began as a way to spark curiosity and conversations around Indian craft spirits,” says Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer at Diageo India. “With Ponda, we are building something far more ambitious. It’s a dynamic space where different parts of the community can engage with Indian craft spirits in meaningful ways. Whether you are a distiller, a chef, an entrepreneur, or just someone who is curious, Ponda has something to offer – and we can’t wait to welcome people to experience it for themselves when we open doors.

“Under one roof, we are bringing together ideas, people and experiences to explore conscious consumption and hone the future of craft. We are excited to see what takes shape here.”

Diageo India Targets Growing Craft Spirits Market

The facility will include dedicated spaces for emerging entrepreneurs through its startup incubator program. The nanobrewery and nanodistillery will serve as testing grounds for new product development and experimentation.

The Good Craft Co. Flavour Market will offer workshops, mentorship programs, and community events designed to foster innovation in the beverage industry. Chef and mixologist collaborations will highlight seasonal ingredients and local flavors.

Construction has begun on the forest-adjacent site, with completion expected within 18 months. The facility will join a growing number of craft distilleries capitalizing on India’s expanding premium spirits market.
