Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery has launched its latest tourism offering with the new Whisky Explorer Experience, providing visitors with an immersive journey into the brand’s heritage and production methods. This investment follows last year’s successful Warehouse Experience introduction, further cementing the distillery’s position in Scotland’s competitive whisky tourism landscape.

The new experience begins with an introductory film before guiding guests through the heritage museum where Dewar’s history is showcased. Visitors then receive behind-the-scenes access to the whisky-making process during a comprehensive distillery tour.

A highlight of the experience is access to the original 1898 warehouse buildings, starting in the Old Filling Store where guests learn about Aberfeldy single malt casking and maturation.

Meet Stephanie Macleod

The tour incorporates cutting-edge elements, including an avatar of Stephanie Macleod, six-time International Whisky Competition Master Blender of the Year, created using projection technology. This digital guide appears in the Blenders Bothy, where visitors learn about Dewar’s double aging process and the four-stage aging technique used for the Double Double range.

The experience culminates with an expert-guided tasting featuring five carefully selected drams, showcasing both Dewar’s Blended Scotch and Aberfeldy expressions.

Dewar’s Aberfeldy Premium Tourism Push

This latest development is part of the distillery’s ongoing strategy to position itself as a premier destination for scotch whisky enthusiasts seeking premium experiences.

The Whisky Explorer Experience is priced at £60 ($78) and can be booked through the distillery’s official website.

The investment comes as Scottish whisky tourism continues to expand, with distilleries increasingly offering specialized experiences to attract domestic and international visitors.
