Chivas Regal has unveiled a refreshed look for its 18 Year Old expression. The whisky is now housed in a glass bottle that weighs 25% less than the original 70cl bottle and fully recyclable outer packaging.

The sleek new packaging demonstrates the brand’s ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impact, with the lightweight packaging reducing emissions generated in transit.

Chivas Regal 18 Year Old’s New Look

From October 2024, blended scotch whisky fans around the world will be able to purchase the Chivas Regal 18 Year Old with updated packaging. A few key changes have been made in the presentation of the whisky.

Firstly, the bottle is slightly taller with more rounded shoulders. The multi-faceted label now sees the iconic Luckeenbooth, a traditional Scottish symbol, take center stage. It is also embossed onto the base of the bottle.

Also embossed in the glass is the Chivas Regal shield and crossed spears which represent the brotherhood of James and John Chivas who laid the groundwork for the blended scotch whisky brand.

In addition, the outer cardboard cartoon is now fully recyclable. It sees blue and gold detailing complete with the signature of Chivas Regal Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop

Reducing Environmental Impacts

Based on FY24 volume sales, Pernod Ricard estimates that the weight reduction will save over 500 tonnes of glass annually. This, in turn, will reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated when transporting the bottles.

Nick Blacknell, Chivas Regal Global Marketing Director, commented, “At Chivas Regal, we are committed to continuing to premiumise our brand while making meaningful strides in sustainability. The new Chivas Regal 18 bottle not only showcases our dedication to luxury with its refined design but also highlights our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental impact. By reducing our glass weight and transitioning to fully recyclable outer packaging, we are taking significant steps towards a more sustainable future. We are thrilled to present this elevated look to whisky enthusiasts around the world, reflecting both our heritage and our commitment to long-lasting positive change.”
