Chichibu has unveiled its eagerly anticipated seventh-annual London Edition release for 2024. A UK exclusive, the limited-edition London Editions have long been sought-after by Japanese whisky enthusiasts and whisky collectors.
Only 1,920 bottles of The Chichibu London Edition 2024 have been produced. They will be sold via The Whisky Exchange and other independent retailers for an RRP of £210.

The Whisky
The Chichibu London Edition 2024 is a blend of approximately 10 casks matured in ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky was then finished in red wine casks to add a complex layer of sweetness and fruit.
Tasting notes for the new release are as follows:
“Chichibu The London Edition 2024 opens with notes of creamy vanilla and rich honey, accompanied by hints of white peach and a delicate smokiness. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture with flavours of white pepper and cream, leading to a bright finish with fresh minerality and a touch of resinous pine.”
First launched at The Whisky Show in 2018, the London Edition series has seen great success over the years. This is the first edition to be released since Chichibu partnered with Speciality Brands for UK distribution.
The whisky is bottled at 50.5% ABV.
The Chichibu London Edition 2024 Packaging
Each release in the London Edition series has featured striking packaging designs, and this release is no different. The label was designed by Raj Chavda, Creative Director of Elixir Distillers. Not only does the label feature distinctive designs and eye-catching colors, it also has a glow-in-the-dark element.

“For the latest Chichibu London Edition, I took inspiration from Musha-e: The Warriors of Ukiyo-e. This genre captures fact and fiction, truth and fable,” says Chavda. “In this version we have the noble warrior battling a dragon, Japan’s most legendary warrior and most iconic mythical beast – a symbol of courage and strength. The glow-in-the-dark element was something I have been experimenting with and is a first for the brand, combining Japanese design tradition with modern techniques.”
