Breckenridge Distillery has set a new world record for the longest shot ski for the 13th time as part of the 62nd annual Ullr Fest in Breckenridge, Colorado. The event featured 1,420 people drinking from a ski measuring 2,489 feet in length.

The record attempt took place on Main Street in the Colorado mountain town.

In total, 507 skis were connected end-to-end to achieve the final length.

The shot ski is the traditional kickoff for Ullr Fest, an annual town-wide winter celebration that pays homage to the Norse god of snow. Participants wear Viking helmets and take part in a parade and other events in hopes of ensuring a snow-filled ski season.

Participants in the shot ski consumed Mountain Shot, a new ready-to-drink (RTD) mushroom whiskey.

The spirit is described as having a “smooth chocolate-mint kick” and is bottled at 69 proof (34.5% ABV).

Mountain Shot is available in on-the-go pouches and standard 750ml bottles.

Breckenridge Distillery is known as one of the highest-altitude distilleries in the world, operating at 9,600 feet.

The use of a ready-to-drink product for the large-scale event also reflects the spirits industry’s growing focus on convenience and occasion-based packaging. The RTD category has seen significant global growth, with brands developing new formats to capture consumer interest in outdoor and celebratory settings. This year’s record-breaking event marks the 13th time the distillery has broken the record.
