WhistlePig Whiskey is declaring spritz season officially dead with the launch of GraveStock Wheat Whiskey, a limited edition release that pairs premium wheat whiskey with Liquid Death Mountain Water. The Vermont distillery’s latest creation arrives just in time to resurrect summer drinking standards with a rebellious twist.

The collaboration brings together two brands known for their irreverent marketing approaches. WhistlePig has built its reputation on bold experimentation and cheeky messaging, while Liquid Death has transformed canned water into a punk rock statement against plastic bottles.

WhistlePig GraveStock Wheat Whiskey is bottled at 86 proof and carries a suggested retail price of $74.99. The limited edition will be available nationwide at premium liquor retailers and online starting June 24, 2025.

WhistlePig GraveStock’s Unique Maturation

GraveStock receives its distinctive profile from aging in custom casket-shaped foeders at WhistlePig Farm in Vermont. These coffin-inspired vessels represent the distillery’s first foray into such unconventional cooperage.

“The custom casket-shaped foeders where GraveStock Wheat Whiskey finds its final resting place are the first of their kind, and a bucket list experiment we – literally – went big on!” says Meghan Ireland, Head Blender at WhistlePig. “They add character in a subtle way that lets the nuance of the wheat whiskey shine. Wheat’s softness and easy style is rounded out with bright notes of honeysuckle, biscotti and butterscotch.”

The high-wheat mashbill creates a softer, more approachable profile compared to traditional bourbon. Official tasting notes highlight honeysuckle sweetness, biscotti warmth, and rich butterscotch flavors that complement the grain’s naturally smooth character.

Liquid Death Partnership Showcases Premium Water Proofing

The partnership with Liquid Death brings mountain water sourcing to American whiskey production. Founded in 2019, Liquid Death has disrupted the beverage industry by packaging mountain spring water in punk-inspired aluminum cans, targeting consumers who want premium hydration without plastic waste.

“Many bottled water brands are just processed municipal tap water, but our Liquid Death Mountain Water comes from real American mountain ranges that produce some of the best water in the world,” said Greg Fass, VP of Marketing at Liquid Death. “Proofing an already delicious WhistlePig whiskey with our premium mountain-sourced water is the type of attention to detail that should take this bottle to the next level.”

WhistlePig GraveStock Summer Sips

WhistlePig recommends mixing GraveStock with Liquid Death’s sparkling waters in cocktails dubbed “DeathBalls.” The Classic DeathBall combines two ounces of whiskey with original sparkling Mountain Water, while variations include the “Pork Belly Up DeathBall” with Severed Lime and the “Armless Palmer DeathBall” featuring Dead Billionaire tea.
