England’s oldest registered whisky distillery has unveiled a limited edition single malt to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. The English Distillery has partnered with Norfolk-based charity Walking with the Wounded (WWTW) for this special release.
The commemorative whisky marks eight decades since May 8, 1945, when World War II formally ended in Europe following Germany’s surrender the previous day. This historic milestone is being honored through a carefully crafted spirit with significant charitable contributions.

Each bottle sold will generate a £2 donation directly to WWTW, an organization dedicated to supporting UK ex-servicemen and women who face challenges transitioning to civilian life.
“WWTW are thrilled to once again be partnering with The English Distillery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day,” said Kate Tabain, director of fundraising and communications at WWTW. “Not only will the bottle acknowledge the sacrifices of so many to ensure peace in Europe, but all donations raised will be used to support veterans, whose service has maintained that peace.”

On the palate, drinkers will experience sticky toffee, crisp apples, pears, milk chocolate, brown sugar and a gentle ginger note. The finish is described as crisp, fresh, and oaky.
The commemorative release is bottled at 46% ABV and priced at £65 ($86). With only 3,000 bottles available, the decanters have been designed as collectible keepsakes to mark the momentous occasion.
English whisky enthusiasts can purchase the commemorative bottles directly through the distillery’s website.
