Lux Row Distillers continues its innovative streak with the announcement of Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish, a unique expression combining American bourbon with Spanish wine influence.
The Bardstown, Kentucky-based distillery’s latest release blends four-year-old wheated and high-rye bourbons, finished for six months in casks that previously held Albariño, a Spanish white wine known for its citrus characteristics.

Spanish Influence Meets Kentucky Tradition

Bottled at 105 proof, this innovative expression showcases a fusion of traditional bourbon elements with distinctive wine cask influence. The nose delivers notes of nectarine, lime, and grapefruit alongside classic whiskey aromas, while the palate features lemon zest and honeydew melon, complemented by subtle acidity and salinity.

“We wanted to combine the fruity citrus flavors of Albariño wine with the corn-influenced sweet notes of our wheated and ryed bourbons,” says Lux Row Master Distiller John Rempe. “The outcome is a delicious combination of two opposing flavors that results in a truly unique expression.”

Lux Row’s Limited Release Strategy

Eric Winter, Lux Row Brand Manager, emphasizes the company’s commitment to innovation: “Our Lux Row brand portfolio is focused on giving bourbon consumers what they want – high-quality offerings that bring unique flavor options and taste profiles.”

The release follows several successful launches from Lux Row, including their award-winning Small Batch PX Sherry Cask Finish, 12-Year Double Barrel, and Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel.

Lux Row Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish will be available exclusively at the distillery’s Bardstown location beginning in March, with a suggested retail price of $59.99 for a 750mL bottle.
