Taiwanese whisky producer Kavalan has launched a limited-edition 15th Anniversary duo now available in select U.S. markets. Imported by San Francisco-based Hotaling & Co., the premium offerings showcase the distillery’s 2009 vintage whiskies at a price point of $1,000 per 750ml bottle.
The launch comes as Kavalan also unveils its first age-statement whisky.

Kavalan CEO Mr. YT Lee emphasized the significance of the release in provided materials: “In commemoration of this special anniversary, our team selected exceptional quality Spanish Oloroso Sherry and American ex-Bourbon casks from the distinguished 2009 vintage – a year that also marks the inaugural launch of these two casks in the Solist Series. Whisky lovers around the world now have a chance to enjoy this unique piece of Kavalan’s history.”

Kavalan 15th Anniversary Whisky Duo
The 15th Anniversary Oloroso Sherry expression (56.3% ABV) presents a rich nose of plum, mixed dried fruits and candied cherries balanced by citrus and caramel sweetness. Its palate delivers dark chocolate and espresso notes with toasty brown sugar and warm spices.
Its counterpart, the ex-Bourbon cask expression (50% ABV), offers bright honey and roasted almond aromas with pronounced vanilla. The palate showcases intense tropical fruit characteristics with a rich, ice cream-like texture.
Both limited editions are non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength to preserve their natural flavor profiles. Each comes packaged in a gift set that includes a coaster and whisky glass, with distinctive bottle designs featuring burgundy red gradation for the Oloroso Sherry version and peacock green for the ex-Bourbon expression.

Hotaling & Co. CEO Dan Leese noted American consumers’ interest in Kavalan’s subtropical aging process: “Given the long-standing curiosity around how Kavalan’s whisky matures in Yilan County’s subtropical climate, we’re excited to see the enthusiasm these remarkable anniversary editions will generate among collectors and whisky fans in the U.S. market.”
The limited-edition offerings are currently available in select retailers across California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Washington D.C., New York, and Texas.
