Isle of Raasay Distillery has unveiled a unique limited-edition whisky collaboration with Arbikie Distillery, marking a six-year journey from field to bottle. Announced on World Whisky Day 2025, the ‘Made with Arbikie barley’ expression showcases the partnership between two Scottish distilleries.
“The release is the culmination of years of work that began as a conversation between co-founders of two very different distilleries, but with a shared passion for creating flavoursome spirits,” said Alasdair Day, Co-founder & Master Distiller of Isle of Raasay Distillery.
Isle of Raasay & Arbikie’s Landmark Partnership
The project began with Concerto barley sown on Arbikie’s farm in Angus before being transported to Raasay for distillation in September 2019. The spirit has since matured in the island’s coastal warehouses.

Tasting notes describe a bright nose featuring green apple, caramel and banana, while the palate delivers black pepper, stewed fruits and gingerbread. The finish brings distinctive pine sap, mint and dark chocolate characteristics.
Celebrating Scottish Terroir
John Stirling, Co-founder of Arbikie Distillery, highlighted the importance of the collaboration’s agricultural roots.
“We are thrilled that our farm is partnering with Isle of Raasay Distillery. Using Arbikie’s barley ensures that every bottle of their whisky reflects the exceptional craftmanship of both our teams,” Stirling said.
