Staghorn’s Garrard County Distilling Co. has relaunched its flagship bourbon, marking the first step in revitalizing its entire whiskey portfolio. All Nations Kentucky Straight Bourbon, a 5- to 7-year-old blend, hits shelves at $39.99.

The new release has already garnered significant acclaim, securing a Gold Medal with 95 Points at the 2024 International Wine and Spirits Competition and a Double Gold Medal at the 2024 America’s Best Beverage Awards.

Collaborative Craftsmanship

Breaking from tradition, All Nations foregoes the single master distiller model in favor of a four-person panel of whiskey experts. The team draws from collective experience at industry giants including Jim Beam, Barton, MGP, and Bluegrass Distilling.

Garrard County Distilling Co., which opened in January 2024 as Kentucky’s largest new independent distillery, sourced the initial release from established Kentucky Bourbon Trail distilleries. The bourbon comprises three distinct mash bills, featuring varying proportions of corn, rye, and malted barley:

  • 75% corn, 12% rye, 13% malted barley
  • 70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley
  • 64% corn, 24% rye, 12% malted barley

The whiskey undergoes aging in #4 alligator char barrels across multiple Kentucky locations – Clermont, Danville, Owensboro, and Boston – before final aging in Lancaster. The blend is proofed using limestone-filtered water from the historic Lancaster Public Spring aquifer, first utilized in 1776.

At 96 proof, the bourbon presents a complex flavor profile. The nose offers sweet spice and leather notes complemented by clove and Madagascar vanilla. The palate delivers poached pear and honeyed black tea, concluding with white peppercorn and black walnut notes.

The brand’s name pays homage to a historical footnote from America’s temperance movement, referencing the “All Nations Welcome Except Carrie” signs that appeared in saloons during Carrie Nation’s anti-alcohol campaign.
