Frey Ranch Distillery, a Nevada-based farm-to-glass distillery, has unveiled its latest innovative whiskey, made from 100% unmalted barley. Adding to the Single Grain Series, Frey Ranch 100% Barley Whiskey showcases the characteristics of barley grown exclusively on Frey Ranch farm.
“As farmers first and foremost, we’ve always believed that if you care about how your food is grown then you should care just as much about how your whiskey is grown. At Frey Ranch Distillery, we call it farm-to-glass whiskey because we raise every single grain with one intention – to eventually become whiskey. With today’s release, we’re turning our attention to one of the global workhorses of whiskey production – barley. Because we decided to create the whiskey with unmalted barley, it offers a creamier, more viscous tasting experience than a traditional single malt,” said Co-Founder and Whiskey Farmer Colby Frey.
Frey Ranch 100% Barley Whiskey
The new whiskey is distilled from two-row unmalted barley in a pot still and aged for four years and eight months before being bottled at 110 proof. The resulting whiskey is rich with aromas of peanut butter and jelly, grains, and pastry on the nose. On the palate, expect honey, allspice, and Honey Nut Cheerios.
Frey Ranch 100% Barley Whiskey will be available exclusively in 375ml bottles for $59.99. The whiskey can be purchased online and at the distillery tasting room in Fallon, NV.
