Douglas Laing continues its exploration of wine-cask whisky finishes with the launch of two new single cask bottlings: a 13-year-old Jura finished in Ruby Port and a 14-year-old Fettercairn matured in Red Pineau des Charentes wine casks.
Douglas Laing & Experimenting With Wine
“The art of whisky finishing is about complementing and elevating the spirit without overpowering its inherent charm,” says Cara Laing, Managing Director of Douglas Laing & Co. “Our Old Particular Wine Cask Collection exemplifies this philosophy, offering whisky lovers a new dimension of flavour, complexity, and depth.”

Limited Single Cask Releases
The Ruby Port-finished Jura displays a fruit-forward profile with plums and cherries on the nose. The palate offers raspberry conserve, warming spices, and honeyed malt, while the finish reveals stewed strawberries, floral notes, and cocoa.
The Fettercairn, finished in Red Pineau des Charentes casks, presents Highland honey and malt aromas alongside blackcurrant and figs. The palate delivers cherries, cocoa, and spiced oak, with a long finish featuring caramelised sweetness and dried prunes.
Collector’s Details
Both whiskies are bottled at 48.4% ABV without chill filtration or added coloring. Production is extremely limited, with just 264 bottles of the Jura and 222 bottles of the Fettercairn available globally.
The releases feature Douglas Laing’s premium black bottle packaging and include neck tags with QR codes linking to exclusive tasting videos. The company plans two additional Wine Cask Collection releases later this year.
The Old Particular Wine Cask Collection is available through specialist whisky retailers and online at Douglas Laing’s website. As limited single cask releases from a respected independent bottler, these whiskies will likely appeal to collectors seeking wine-finished expressions with island and Highland character.
