Following on from the recent announcement of Copperworks’ new Whiskey Club, the Seattle-based distillery has now revealed the inaugural release that will launch this exclusive membership program.
Copperworks Distilling Co. has announced that members will receive Copperworks Red Wine Cask American Single Malt Whiskey as their first quarterly release. This limited-edition expression represents the distillery’s commitment to creating unique, small-batch releases exclusively for club subscribers.
Copperworks Red Wine Cask American Single Malt Whiskey
The whiskey showcases Copperworks’ dedication to regional ingredients, crafted with Salmon Safe Genie barley grown in Athena, Oregon. The grain originates from just across the Washington border in the renowned Walla Walla Valley, emphasizing the distillery’s Pacific Northwest roots.
The American Single Malt spent over six years developing in French oak casks that previously held red wine, creating a unique flavor profile that bridges local grain character with old-world wine influences.
The extended aging process delivers complex tasting notes that begin with rich brown sugar, red currant, damp cedar, and brine on the nose, complemented by maple syrup and sweet cotton candy. The palate reveals orange creamsicle, Rainier cherry, and cinnamon graham cracker alongside pound cake, while subtle banana, black pepper, and vanilla wafer notes add depth. The wine cask influence shows through soft tannins and fruit characteristics reminiscent of Bordeaux wine and cabernet grapes.
Club Membership Details
The Copperworks Whiskey Club operates on a quarterly release schedule, with this red wine cask expression kicking off the series. Membership remains free to join, though subscribers must commit to purchasing releases or can skip quarters as needed.
Two membership tiers are available, offering either one or two bottles per quarter, with pricing starting at $89.99 plus applicable taxes and shipping. New members receive additional benefits, including 25% off their first order within 30 days of joining, access to exclusive tasting events, and a club-only Glencairn glass with their initial shipment.
Prospective members have until Monday, May 26, to join and secure this inaugural release. While enrollment remains open beyond that date, later subscribers will miss the red wine cask expression and begin with subsequent quarterly offerings.
