Compass Box has unveiled a special limited-edition remastering of one of its most iconic blended malt scotch whiskies to mark its 25th anniversary in the whisky industry. Compass Box Flaming Heart: 25th Anniversary Edition (48.9% ABV) pushes boundaries while paying homage to the original’s legacy, with only 9,384 bottles available at $165 MSRP.

Since its founding in 2000, Compass Box has earned global recognition for redefining whisky blending by combining captivating stories with dynamic flavors. The Flaming Heart series, which debuted in 2006, has become known for its fusion of rich peat smoke and French oak influence.

Unlike previous iterations that included unpeated whiskies aged in bourbon or sherry casks, this eighth rendition relies exclusively on peated whiskies and those extra-matured in custom French oak barrels.

Distinctive Flavor Profile
The anniversary edition features malt whisky from Benrinnes Distillery, Talisker Distillery, Laphroaig Distillery, and “Williamson” Islay Malt.
Tasting notes describe oily smoke on the nose with spice and fruit undertones. Maritime elements add depth to the aroma profile.
The palate presents clove, pink, and black pepper alongside fruit notes that contrast with medicinal peat. The finish delivers smoky characteristics with woody, menthol, and citrus notes.
Musical Influence
Music continues to inspire the Flaming Heart series, which takes its name from M. Ward’s 2001 folk and blues classic. Each edition draws on new musical influences, embodying a rock ‘n’ roll spirit that matches the whisky’s bold character. To celebrate this influence, Compass Box has curated a special Spotify playlist for drinkers to listen to whilst they sip on the dram.
The label design for this anniversary edition focuses on flames and oak, with traditional cherubs now appearing as coopers inspecting an oaken structure containing a burning heart – symbolizing Compass Box’s 25 years of passionate whiskymaking.
