Brother Justus Whiskey Company, an award-winning craft distillery in Minneapolis, has announced a special collaboration with the Commander’s Own Chapter of the 34th Infantry Division Association to create two commemorative American whiskey expressions.
The partnership will produce ‘The Commander’s Own’ and ‘The Commander’s Cut’, both distilled from 100% malted barley. These limited-edition releases aim to honor current and former members of the 34th “Red Bull” Infantry Division while generating resources to support the division’s legacy and provide scholarships.

The first expression, The Commander’s Own American Whiskey, will be released in late May at 43% ABV (86 proof) with a price tag of $72.99.
According to tasting notes, it features mandarin orange, oyster, custard, and toffee on the nose, while the palate presents clove, coffee, toasted malt, and vanilla. The finish offers notes of butter, sea brine, geranium, and cherry.
A second expression, The Commander’s Cut American Whiskey, is scheduled for release in November, though detailed specifications have not yet been announced.

Phil Steger, founder and CEO of Brother Justus, emphasized the alignment between the company’s values and the collaboration’s purpose.

Retired Colonel Chad Sackett, president of the 34th Infantry Division Association chapter, noted the natural fit between the organizations.
“The quality of Brother Justus’ Whiskey, combined with their deep respect for history and legacy, set the perfect table for us to jointly create something exceptional and meaningful for our current and former service members and their families,” said Sackett. “What we have developed honors the history of the Red Bulls and the 34th ID Association’s commitment to carry on that legacy.”
