A Harmonious Pairing
Pedro Ximénez, commonly abbreviated as P.X. or (PX), is a dessert wine from Spain celebrated for its rich, intense sweetness. These wines typically showcase notes of dried fruits, chocolate, and toffee.
To create the bourbon, the BCS team blended select straight bourbon whiskeys from Kentucky (9 and 10-year), Indiana (6, 7, 8, and 12-year), and Tennessee (7 and 15-year). This blend then underwent further maturation in P.X. Sherry barrels.
“The result is a rich, full-bodied bourbon with layers of toasted coffee, golden honey, and candied fruit, offering a sophisticated balance of depth and sweetness,” according to the company’s release.
Specifications and Availability
The new expression features a derived mash bill of corn (80%), rye (16%), and malted barley (4%). It was bottled at cask strength (115.52 proof) in Kentucky.
P.X. Sherry Cask Finish is now available for purchase online through the BCS website at barrellbourbon.com and at select retailers for the suggested retail price of $84.99 per 750ml bottle.
