Jameson is the world’s biggest Irish whiskey brand, and for good reason. Originally founded in 1780 by John Jameson in Dublin, Jameson is an iconic and historic whiskey brand.
The 18 year old expression is part of its premium range, positioned above the standard Jameson Original and Jameson Black Barrel. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered. The whiskey is released in limited quantities, reflecting its longer aging process.
Jameson 18 Year Old is a blended Irish whiskey produced by Irish Distillers at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. It is made from a combination of pot still and grain whiskeys, all of which have been aged for a minimum of 18 years in a mix of American and European oak casks. After maturation, the whiskey is married and finished in fresh American oak barrels before bottling.
The brand bills the 18 year old as “the kind of thing you only pull out for best mates.” So, next time you have some whiskey-loving friends over, why not dazzle them with the Jameson 18 Year Old, which won a Gold medal and was named Category Winner at the World Whiskies Awards Ireland 2025.

Fercullen Falls is a small-batch blended Irish whiskey produced by Powerscourt Distillery in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is bottled at 43% ABV and consists of a 50/50 blend of malt and grain whiskeys. The malt component is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, while the grain whiskey is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and new heavy-char oak casks.
This release marks a significant milestone for Powerscourt Distillery, as it includes whiskey distilled on-site for the first time, signaling a transition from sourcing whiskey to using its own production. The distillery, located on the Powerscourt Estate, was established to produce premium Irish whiskey using local ingredients, including water and barley sourced from the surrounding area.
The whiskey is developed under the expertise of John Cashman, Head of Brand & New Product Development, and Paul Corbett, Master Distiller & Blender.
Editor’s Note: The original version of this article made reference to ‘The Pogues Streams of Whiskey’ – a blended whiskey crafted from both Irish and UK distillates. The whiskey was awarded a gold medal in the ‘Blended’ category at the World Whiskies Awards Ireland 2025. However, the whiskey is technically a “blended whiskey from Ireland” according to the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
