Every winning bidder with a UK delivery address will be automatically entered into the draw.

The April Whisky & Spirits auction is now live, ending at 19:30 BST on Tuesday 22 April. But what bottles should you be bidding on? Here are just a few highlights.

The Macallan 1960-1986 18 Year Old Vertical

Probably the star lot of the April auction is this Macallan 1960-1986 vintage vertical. Containing 27 consecutive vintages, the set features 21 18 year old bottlings, beginning from 1966 when the first 18 year old hit the market. The preceding six bottles include three Campbell, Hope & King / Rinaldi imports and three ‘Special Selections’ all from the early-mid 1960s. This is an excellent opportunity for any Macallan lover to kick off a collection in style!

Our valuation team expects this lot to reach up to £65,000. Place your bids here.

Caol Ila 1968 Gordon & Macphail Cask Strength Gordon & Macphail, Bottled 1980s

Distilled just four years before the distillery was demolished to make way for a new, bigger operation, this 1968 Caol Ila was released as part of independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail’s early foray into ‘natural strength’ releases.

In the 60s the majority of Caol Ila was destined for the popular blends of the day, most notably Johnnie Walker, which was made by parent company DCL, but independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail, pioneered the single malt market, ensuring these rare bottlings survive to this day.

Our valuations team predicts this bottle will sell for £2,000-£3,000. You can place your bid on this legendary Caol Ila here

Bowmore Bicentenary

This extra-special release from Bowmore has achieved legendary status amongst collectors.

Released in 1979 to mark 200 years since the distillery first fired up its stills, it contains whisky vatted from a selection of casks distilled in the 1950s and 1960s, with the earliest distillate from 1950. The casks were selected from Bowmore’s original warehouse which has been used since the first days of Bowmore, known as the No.1 Vault.

This bottle is valued at between £1,500 and £2,000. Bid on this fantastic Bowmore here.

Macallan 1998 25 Year Old Howard Cai Select

For the Macallan lover who has everything, this is the perfect purchase. This 25 Year Old Macallan was independently bottled by Whisky Point Limited, exclusively for the wedding of ‘Xian & KK’ in 2023. We don’t know much about the wedding itself but we envy the guests who each received a bottle of this whisky! This is bottle 86 of just 238 produced.

This one is a rare find at auction, but based on the age and the distillery, our valuation team expects this bottle to reach a hammer price of £1,250 – £2,250. Bid on this elusive Macallan whisky here

White Horse Spring Cap, Bottled 1950s-1960s

For anyone like me who’s a sucker for a bottle with a ‘vintage’ look and feel, this Spring Cap release from White Horse is a no-brainer.

At 43% ABV it’s a rarer release than the usual 40% and it comes with an almost pristine box, another rare addition to this lot. It was bottled in the late 50s to early 60s, an era of White Horse which has achieved rave reviews from the likes of Serge at WhiskyFun who scored it an excellent 91 points. He also hints that there’s a chance that these old bottles could contain drops of elusive Malt Mill.

Our valuation team estimates this will reach a hammer price of £180 – £300. Place your bids now.
