Tasting Notes:

About:
A blended scotch created in collaboration with London-based wines and spirits merchant Hedonism.
Appearance:
Toasted amber
Nose:
Oatcake, cup mushroom, and roasted squash. The chalkiness of walnut and very light notes of violet and lavender. Rich fruitcake and waxy lemon and orange peels. Cantaloupe melon, ruby grapefruit, and passionfruit pulp. Very overripe damsons. Fiery stem ginger and a little milk chocolate.
Palate:
Tropical fruits come forward, the melon and passionfruit and a little papaya, with shaved coconut and fruity molasses. Malt loaf and sweet orange marmalade. A hint of roasted garlic, still in its skin. Freshly varnished wood and dusky florals hide underneath.
Finish:
Dark berry compote, toffee and rosy hints of Turkish delight emerge on the finish, which clings on with gentle tannins.
Comments:
While age has deepened the flavors and played with the mouthfeel, this retains the zing of well-made grain whisky, particularly on the aroma. It was pleasurable, indeed.
