Tasting Notes:

About:
A blend of malt whiskies designed to evoke the scents of the garden at Hazelwood House in summer.
Appearance:
Honey
Nose:
Orange peel, and orange-flavored hard candies. Rich honey cake and sweet vanilla extract, and almond-rich marzipan. Walnuts and cinnamon syrup. Unsweetened baked apple, honeyed chamomile tea, and expressed lemon peel. Caramelizing white chocolate.
Palate:
Fairly light-bodied. Floral notes of violet, orange blossom, and rosewater. A hint of pistachios in syrup baklava. The chamomile tea is still there, but now sweeter and chilled. Sour-apple candies, and a slight sulfury hint, like the rind on a baked cheese.
Finish:
‘Green’ notes take over in the medium-long finish, with cut flower stems and the distinct herbaceous and tannic influence of green tea. Finally, unexpectedly, the baked apple returns.
Comments:
The name says much for the whisky here: it definitely errs on the side of floral and herbaceous, but with enough sweet and malty accents to keep it balanced.
