What Is The Story Behind Four Branches Bourbon?
Four Branches Bourbon was founded by four former members of the US military. Each served in a different branch, hence the name of the brand. They are Mike Trott (Air Force), Rick Franco (Marine Corps), RJ Casey (Army), and Harold Underdown (Navy).
Their venture started when the four decided to acquire a single barrel of whiskey to honor a fallen soldier. One thing led to another, and soon the group decided to create the only spirits company founded by veterans from all four branches of the US military.
The tagline of Four Branches Bourbon is: Serve Honorably. Drink Honorably.
How Was The Bourbon Made?
Four Branches Bourbon was created with help from Steve Nally, Master Distiller at Bardstown Bourbon Company. Expertly blended from a four-grain mash bill, this smooth and supple bourbon is a straight bourbon whiskey, meaning that the spirit was matured for at least two years in accordance with TTB legislation.
Bottled at 48% ABV. the bourbon is smooth and strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and spice. It recently won a Double Gold medal at the 2024 Sip Awards.
Does Four Branches Raise Money For Charity?
As you might expect, Four Branches is all about giving back, and charity is a big part of the company. To date, Four Branches has raised more than $300,000 for charities such as Folds of Honor and the CIA Office Memorial Fund, amongst others.
According to the Four Branches website: “We are four veterans who share a deep appreciation for bourbon and an unbreakable bond forged in service abroad. We believe in the power of gathering together, sharing stories, and raising a glass to honor the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters in arms and those who have supported them.
