Should You Buy Ad Gefrin Táncbora?
If you’re still unsure about whiskies outside of Scotland and Ireland, then this is a nice intermediate for you. A combination of Scottish, English, and Irish whiskies that have a solid selection of multiple maturities across the liquids – this is fun, interesting, and a way to explore your way through multiple styles and see what they could offer up in the context of a blend.
English whisky is a mix of a few different styles, as is Irish in all honesty. But there are some ‘classic’ styles of English whisky that can bring you lighter, sweeter notes in comparison to some heavier Scottish whiskies but it’s not something to be scared of, there are some lovely liquids out there.
Best Ways To Enjoy It?
As always, trying this neat is a very solid way to start and that is the best way to start with any whisky. But, due to the lightness of this whisky and how crisp and clean it is – this could open up in some really cool ways once added into a mixed drink situation.
So whether you’re a classic cocktail person and want to make some Old Fashioneds or Whiskey Sours, that would work very well. Outside of that, this sounds like it would be delicious in a whisky and tonic situation, or even made as a classic highball.
Final Thoughts on Ad Gefrin Tácnbora
This is a really interesting bottle of whisky that combines some classic and newer styles of whisky for the drinker. Ad Gefrin isn’t the first to blend together styles from across the British Isles; The Lakes Distillery did a similar thing about a decade ago.
Overall though, Ad Gefrin Tácnbora is a clean, crisp, sweet, and interesting style of whisky that isn’t a super high price. The only difficult part that you may face is learning to pronounce the name of the bottle.
