Tobermory Distillery, located on the quaint Isle of Mull, has launched two of its award-winning single malt scotches in the United States. The peated and unpeated expressions showcase Tobermory’s unique, Mull-inspired whisky-making practices.
Tobermory 21 Year Old (46.3% ABV) has an MSRP of $280.99, and Ledaig 18 Year Old (46.3% ABV) has an MSRP of $176.99. Both whiskies are available in limited quantities from select retailers nationwide and on ReserveBar.com.
Tobermory 21 Year Old
Tobermory is the unpeated style spirit produced at the Tobermory Distillery. This 21 Year Old expression was distilled in 1999 and initially matured in refill casks before being transferred to Oloroso sherry casks for finishing in 2015.
The official tasting notes are as follows:
“Color: Deep Gold
Nose: Marzipan, hazelnuts, toffee and treacle.
Palate: Cherry wood, brown sugar, caramelized pineapples and sticky toffee.
Finish: Fresh, light and sweet.”
Ledaig 18 Year Old
Ledaig (pronounced ‘Letch-ick’) is the peated whisky brand produced at Tobermory. Peated to between 30 and 40 ppm, Ledaig whisky is powerful, smoky, and rich.
This 18 Year Old expression spent 16 years in ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a 2-year finishing period in sherry casks. In 2023, it was named ‘Whisky of the Year’ by The Whisky Exchange.

“Color: Copper Gold
Nose: Rich, fruity sherried smokiness, lovely balance of phenols, seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper with hints of sweet oakiness.
Palate: Powerful rich, sherried, herbal smoky flavors, orange peel, coffee, a touch of sea salt, tobacco and white pepper.
Finish: Smoke, with a hint of licorice and sea spray.”
Tobermory Distillery
Tobermory, established in 1798, is not only one of Scotland’s oldest commercial distilleries but also the only whisky distillery on the Isle of Mull. At the heart of this spirited island community, the Tobermory distillery produces a range of finely crafted spirits, including Tobermory Whisky, Ledaig Single Malts, and Tobermory Gin.
