The Macallan Distillery, in its 200th year, has just unveiled The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection, featuring two releases and three exceptional whiskies. They are The Macallan £150,000 (estimated) TIME : SPACE 1940 84 Year Old + a 2018 5 Year Old, and £1,100 The Macallan TIME : SPACE Mastery, a no-age-statement expression comprised of whisky from 14 different cask types.

The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection comprises two releases, containing three different whiskies. They are as follows:
- The Macallan TIME : SPACE – A 1940 84 Year Old whisky housed in a circular vessel with a hole in the middle. In this hole sits a decanter of 2018 vintage 5 year old Macallan whisky, some of the first whisky to be distilled at The Macallan following the opening of the state-of-the-art distillery in 2018. This release contains both the oldest Macallan whisky ever released, and some of the youngest Macallan spirit from 2018.
- The Macallan TIME : SPACE Mastery – This accompanying release is a vatting of Macallan whisky matured in 14 different cask types as an ode to the distillery’s previous Whisky Masters. It does not have an age statement and clocks in at 43.6% ABV.
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Price
The 1940 84 Year Old, accompanied by the 2018 5 Year Old, make up one release: TIME : SPACE. There is no word from The Macallan on the price of this release, with the bottles being available by invitation only. Given the prices of Macallan’s past luxury releases (such as The Horizon and The Reach), we expect the price to be £150,000 ($190,000).

The Mastery Price
In keeping with The Macallan’s strategy of releasing one ultra-premium, ultra-luxury, and ultra-expensive bottle followed by a more accessible one, the Mastery will retail for £1,100 and will be available via The Macallan Society Ballot. The whisky will also be available at The Macallan Distillery, subject to availability.
