The Macallan has unveiled the latest installments in the Harmony Collection, featuring two new whiskies in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. Inspired by the brands’ commitment to innovation and respect for the natural world, Harmony Vibrant Oak and Harmony Guardian Oak pay tribute to The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks.
This is the latest release in The Macallan’s ongoing 200th anniversary celebrations and the fourth edition in the Harmony Collection.
The Macallan Harmony Vibrant Oak
The Macallan Harmony Vibrant Oak contains whisky matured in a combination of first-fill American and second-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks.
The beautiful packaging was designed in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and features Ayla, a character from the Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT experience, held at The Macallan Estate. With beautiful gold illustrations of tree branches and peacock feathers, the packaging pays tribute to two of The Macallan’s six pillars: the oak casks and natural color.

Tasting notes for the new release feature vanilla beam, sweet sherbert, lime zest, pears, and vanilla sponge cake on the nose. The palate presents “Creamy vanilla panna cotta, buttery shortbread, lightly toasted coconut with almond brittle, apple and sweet oak.”
Bottled at 44.2% ABV, Vibrant Oak is available exclusively in UK domestic retail. It will be available to purchase directly from The Macallan from November 1st, 2024, as well as via selected retailers such as Berry Bros & Rudd, The Whisky Exchange, The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt, and Selfridges.
The Macallan Harmony Guardian Oak
The Macallan Harmony Guardian Oak (also 44.2% ABV) was matured in a combination of first-fill European and second-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks.

Guardian Oak’s packaging features an illustration of Davonna, another figure from the Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT experience. She is entwined with the branches of a European oak tree, again representing the casks that matured the Harmony Collection whiskies. Complete with striking purple hues, the pack “represent[s] Davonna’s character, engrained with vibrant purple hues, symbolising wisdom and maturity.”
Tasting notes for The Macallan Harmony Guardian Oak mention dried fruits, figs, raisins, orange peel, dark chocolate, and nutmeg on the nose. The palate is “Sticky ginger syrup sweetness and a burst of orange lead to opulent glazed dates, cherries and plump sultanas alongside rich oak and sweet spices.”
Guardian Oak is a global travel retail exclusive, and will be available in selected GTR airports from January 2025.
The Macallan x Cirque du Soleil
The Macallan’s partnership with Cirque du Soleil began earlier this year with the debut of Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT, an immersive experience held at The Macallan Distillery in Speyside.
In the design of the new Harmony Collection packaging, the brands “capture the importance of the connection between the natural world and human experience, with the life and wonder that blooms when humans are “in harmony with nature,” according to a press release from The Macallan.
In addition, the new Harmony Collection boxes are made from oak chippings, a byproduct from cask cooperage. This recycling highlights The Macallan’s commitment to environmental practices.
Speaking about the new releases, Diane Stuart, Whisky Maker at The Macallan said: “Oak plays such an important role in the colour and flavour of The Macallan and bringing it to life through our packaging is incredibly inspirational. Vibrant Oak and Guardian Oak, provided an opportunity to select the casks that deliver the classic characteristics of our two key wood types, sherry seasoned American oak and sherry seasoned European oak casks, showcasing the differences these wood types deliver.”
