Award Winning Indian Whisky Now On Shelves In Tesco

Indri Trini Whisky is now available on shelves in 79 premium Tesco stores across the country with an RRP of £45.

Indri Whisky, a popular Indian whisky brand produced by Piccadily Distillery, has come to the United Kingdom. Indri Trini is now available on shelves in 79 premium Tesco stores across the country with an RRP of £45.

The official launch of Trini in Tesco stores follows the news, in May of this year, that Indri had joined Mangrove Global’s portfolio, with a view to expanding Indri’s consumer base in the UK.

Indri Trini

Indri Trini is the brand’s flagship whisky, distilled from Indian six-row barley in Scottish-style copper pot stills. The whisky is subsequently aged in three different casks: ex-bourbon, French wine, and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

Indri whisky is renowned for its complexity, which can be attributed to the sub-tropical Indian climate. The hot weather accelerates evaporation and maturation, allowing the whisky to develop a rich and layered profile.

Indri Whisky At Tesco

The inclusion of Indri Whisky on Tesco shelves will open up a new market for the brand. Tesco also recognizes that its customers are always looking for new and premium drinking experiences. It is hoped that Indri Whisky will see success in the UK market, just as it has overseas.

“The buying team at Tesco are championing a truly diverse whisky range, and one that features premium varieties and isn’t just driven by price,” says Helen Barugh, Channel Director for Grocery. “This directly responds to what we know consumers want; better quality spirits, new varieties to try, and a good selection of world whiskies at the heart of that.”

“We are incredibly proud to see Indri being listed in Tesco’s premium supermarkets across England. This strategic entry represents a significant leap forward for Indri and reflects the growing global demand for the brand,” added Siddhartha Sharma, Promoter for Piccadily Distilleries. “Partnering with Mangrove Global has been a key factor in our success, and we are excited to continue expanding Indri’s presence. Our presence at Tesco not only allows us to reach more whisky enthusiasts but also aligns with our vision of sharing the authentic taste and heritage of Indian whisky with the world.”

Made Possible By Mangrove Global

Mangrove Global, a premium spirits distributor, has an impressive portfolio that spans the globe. Some of these brands include Kiefer Sutherland’s Red Bank Canadian Whisky, Uncle Nearest Premium Whisky from Tennessee, and Glendalough Irish Whiskey.

The introduction of Indri to the UK is another achievement for Mangrove, which has helped numerous brands grow their international presence. According to a brand press release: “Mangrove’s role as a distributor is to introduce its diverse portfolio of spirits, including Indri, to as many new consumers as possible, a goal much helped by securing a national listing with one of the UK’s largest supermarkets. With the arrival of the whisky season and the colder months approaching, there is no better time to discover a new winter warmer – and the shelves of Tesco are the ideal place to do just that.”
