Jameson Irish Whiskey has launched a new global campaign for Jameson Black Barrel: The Greatest Story Almost Told, featuring actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train, Avengers: Age of Ultron). 

Celebrating Jameson’s craftsmanship and closely guarded secrets, the film was directed by renowned director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite, The Killing of a Sacred Deer). It focuses on the recently revamped Jameson Black Barrel, one of the brand’s core expressions. 

‘The Greatest Story Almost Told’

The campaign film follows Aaron Taylor-Johnson as he makes his way through a reimagined version of Jameson Distillery, attempting to uncover the secret as to what makes Jameson Black Barrel so special. However, these secrets are not written down – they live solely in the minds of the Jameson whiskey makers. 

Taylor-Johnson travels from the Jameson bar, through the still room, and back to the bar once again on his journey of discovery. Brought to the small screen by legendary set designer, Shona Heath, this heightened version of the Jameson Distillery and bar demonstrates the convivial spirit of Jameson. 

At the bar, raising a glass, Taylor-Johnson concludes: “It’s the greatest whiskey I ever drank and the greatest story I never did tell.” The magic of Jameson remains a mystery, and maybe that is exactly how it should be. 

‘The Greatest Story Almost Told’ is now available to watch on Jameson’s YouTube channel. 15 and 30-second versions have also been released for digital broadcast.
