Tullibardine distillery, out of Scotland’s Highland region, last year debuted a whopper of a whisky for its new Custodians collection: a 1952, 60-year-old bottling housed in a Baccarat crystal decanter. The second expression from this luxury lineup is now available, taking the form of the Tullibardine 1970.Whereas the Tullibardine 1952 was priced at a staggering $31,000+, the amount being asked for Tullibardine 1970 seems to be a little more reasonable (comparably), at under $900. Its presentation is much more standard, arriving in a more conventional bottle and box. Still, it seems is a pretty solid expression for what it is.

Mature, highly fragrant with rose pedals, old bees wax and intnese. On the nose tangerine and sublime citrus freshness abound counterbalanced with sweet barley and a touch of vanilla.
There are hints of almonds, spice, creme brûlée and baked bananas to taste which combine beautifully with the citrus & sweet barley notes from the initial nosing.
