The Laphroaig distillery, as it continues to celebrate its 200th anniversary this year, has unveiled a special bottling aged for over three decades in a single cask type. The new Laphroaig 32 Year Old is set to price for around $1,200 USD.
The Laphroaig 32 Year Old, according to the distillery, was matured solely in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a deep mahogany colored whisky that was bottled at 93.4 proof. It heralds from the Islay region of Scotland, having been produced by an outlet which is one of the few whiskey producers in the world to still use traditional malting floors.
