The Kilchoman distillery in Islay is known, among other things, for being one of the only to do most to all of its production process on site. This barley to bottling approach has helped create a raft of fans for this operation, and now the latest whisky set for release May 12 from them is the fourth edition of its limited 100 percent local barley offering.

READ THE STORYKnown as 100% Islay 4th Edition, the barley for this expression “is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at Kilchoman,” making for what the distillery says is “a unique character.” It is only lightly peated compared to other Kilchoman offerings, and is bottled at 50% ABV.
Nose: Subtle, light smoke, pear drops and citrus fruit.
