The Benriach distillery in Scotland is known for its use of both peated and unpeated malted barley and its range of cask finishes across its product line. It is a Speyside-based single malt whisky maker, and one which Brown-Forman acquired a few years back. Their latest release into the US market is the Benriach 25 Years Old.

“BenRiach 25 Years Old offers a rare opportunity to taste an older expression of sublime complexity and depth,” said Brown-Forman Master Blender Rachel Barrie in a prepared statement. “As a ‘wishlist’ spirit, this sumptuous expression is sure to delight connoisseurs, enjoyed in celebration with friends, colleagues and family. With Father’s Day and Mother’s Day coming up, there is no better gift to make the occasion a memorable one.”

As it stands now plans call for this whisky to price around $300 per 750 ml bottle. It is available beginning this month, and you’ll find some limited official tasting notes below from Benriach.

  • On the eye, a rich golden color
  • On the nose, rich honey, spices and apples in combination with pronounced oak notes
  • On the palate, a rich cocktail of honey, Oloroso sherry, cocoa and apples, supported by a beguiling presence of citrus and wood tones
