WhistlePig Whiskey has teamed up with the Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber to launch a new limited edition whiskey: WhistlePig PiggyBack Rye: Stake F1® Team KICK Sauber Single Barrel. Selected by Stake’s drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, as the team’s official whiskey, the rye was “finnished” (if you’ll pardon the pun) in OΛTH Gin barrels, the gin brand owned by the Finnish driver, Valtteri Bottas.
The new whiskey and partnership will see WhistlePig staking $1.77 million in profits on a Stake KICK Sauber victory this Formula One season.
WhistlePig PiggyBack Rye: Stake F1® Team KICK Sauber Single Barrel
WhistlePig’s iconic PiggyBack Rye was aged for six years in virgin American oak before being finished in the OΛTH Gin barrels. The aromatics in the gin include oats and apple peel, imparting to the rye crisp notes of apples and soft flavors of pine. The bottling strength 100.77 proof, is an ode to Valtteri Bottas’s racing number, #77.

Valtteri Bottas In ‘Bo Talks’
In classic WhistlePig and Bottas style, the brand and the driver teamed up to create ‘Bo Talks’, highlighting the contrast between speed on the Formula One circuits and the slow art of whiskey making.
The hilarious promotional video features Bottas himself asking “What is fast?” and concluding, “I am fast.” The limited edition WhistlePig x Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber Single Barrel, however, “smells so slow,” says Valtteri, inhaling the scent of the barrel.

Valtteri Bottas is a Finnish F1 driver, currently driving for the Stake F1® Team KICK Sauber in the 2024 Formula One World Championship. He has previously driven for Williams and Mercedes, partnering Lewis Hamilton from 2017 until 2021. He has ten race wins to his name, and 1,797 career points.
