Wyoming Whiskey and Bardstown Bourbon Company unveil double releases, and Dierk Bentley launches his new whiskey brand.
Let’s take a look at some new American whiskey releases.
Wyoming Whiskey National Park No.4 and Old Faithful
This week has seen a double release from Wyoming Whiskey, the state’s first legal distillery.
The first of the two releases in National Parks No.4, a straight bourbon whiskey paying tribute to Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone National Park contains half of the world’s known hydrothermal features as well as canyons, rivers, and alpine forests. This is the fourth installment in Wyoming Whiskey’s National Parks series, which aims to celebrate “the park’s unique and evolving landscape.
Wyoming Whiskey National Park No.4 is a blend of 70+ specially selected bourbon barrels that were aged for at least five years. The resulting 49% ABV blend presents “flavors of vanilla, candied ginger and crème caramel, with a honeysuckle finish.”
Available in 27 states, National Parks No.4 retails for $79.99.
Wyoming Whiskey has also released Old Faithful, which pays homage to the Old Faithful geyser, also located in Yellowstone National Park, as part of the Wide-Open Spaces series.

Old Faithful is, arguably, the world’s most famous geyser. It was captured by legendary photographer, F. Jay Haynes, whose image features on the label.
This whiskey is a blend of three specially selected barrels, making it an extremely limited release. Aged for at least 10 years, the blend showcases “notes of baking spices, orange peel, toffee and Black Forest cake with crushed almonds.”
Old Faithful is available in Wyoming, California, and Colorado. The 54% ABV whiskey retails for $499.99. Only 500 bottles have been made available.
Wyoming Whiskey is a longtime supporter of Yellowstone Forever, a foundation that strives to preserve and protect Yellowstone. The brand has even donated $150,000 to the foundation in conjunction with these releases.
Bardstown Bourbon Company Silver Oak and Discovery 12
Bardstown Bourbon Company has unveiled two new expressions in celebration of Bourbon Heritage Month this September: Silver Oak and the 12th release in the Discovery series.
Silver Oak is a blend of bourbons aged 9 to 15 years old that has been finished for 17 months in Silver Oak Cabernet barrels. Taking inspiration from the longstanding wine industry practice of maturing Cabernet Sauvignon in American oak barrels, Bardstown Bourbon Company has sourced barrels from Silver Oak Winery in Napa Valley, bringing together whiskey and wine in an innovative twist.
The resulting whiskey has “ layers of baked strawberry, plum, and roasted nuts are highlighted by cinnamon and cocoa,” on the nose. The palate presents “caramel and fig leads to an exquisite, lightly tannic balance of oak, spice, and blackberry, striking a noteworthy balance of fruit and barrel notes. “
Bottled at 54% ABV, the whiskey has an SRP of $159.99.
Secondly, Bardstown Bourbon Company has released the 12th bottle in its award-winning Discovery Series, which highlights the art of blending and how it is always a learning experience.
Discovery 12 is a blend of four different whiskeys, with one being a 6 year old four-grain whiskey from Bardstown Bourbon Company. The result is a “Baked cherry, toasted oak, vanilla cream, and hazelnut create a decadent, complex aroma. On the palate, a balance of wood sugar and spice gives way to a lasting finish of coconut, red fruit, and caramel.”
Bottled at 57.6% ABV, Discovery 12 retails for $139.99.
Dierk Bentley’s ROW 94
Country music star, Dierk Bentley, has unveiled his new whiskey brand: ROW 94. The whiskey is made at the Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, KY, and reflects Bentley’s love of bourbon, and his dream of sharing this love with his fans.
The whiskey is made using only “Three Ingredients and The Truth”, according to a brand press release, with the ingredients being “premium grain, purified Kentucky limestone water, and cultivated yeast.”
The mash bill comprises 70% Kentucky corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. Aged for at least four years in virgin American oak barrels with level #4 char, ROW 94 is rich and complex, with notes of “vanilla and toffee to start with a subtle green apple flavor underneath. The whiskey finishes with hints of honey and tobacco.”
ROW 94, named after the year in which Bentley moved to Nashville to begin his music career, will retail for $39.99 in selected states including Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, and Colorado. You can buy your bottle here.
“A lot of years of thinking, researching and trying different whiskeys went into creating ROW 94,” says Bentley. “It’s been an evolution – from drinking basically any whiskey handed to me back in college, to it becoming something I enjoy tasting and sharing with friends. I knew I wanted 94 proof because I like some bite, and that I wanted it aged for at least four years since that’s when it starts to taste best to me. ROW 94 is a serious whiskey that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and I’m glad we finally get to share it.”
Mark Erwin, CEO of Green River Distilling Co., added: “Dierks’ passion for whiskey and doing things the right way was evident from the first time we met him. He loves the Green River Distillery and wanted it to be the home for ROW 94. We are excited to be partnering with him and his team on this great brand and look forward to seeing what they can do with this great liquid.”
