Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has announced the launch of a 10 year old rye expression, the latest to be added to the brand’s core range. Joining the Bulleit 10 Year Old Bourbon, the two expressions form the basis of Bulleit’s new 10-Year-Aged Whiskeys range.

The rye whiskey was distilled from Bulleit’s flagship rye mash bill, comprising 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It was then aged in virgin American oak barrels, charred to exact specifications, bringing out the bold spice yet silky smoothness that defines Bulleit Rye.

Aromas of “rich caramel and toffee” greet the drinker. The palate features notes of “pear-like fruitiness, dry oak, full-bodied vanilla, and a spiced rye finish that lingers.”

“Our Bulleit 10-Year Aged Whiskeys showcase the bold, spicy rye-forward flavors that define our brand,” said Jenika Newsum, Senior Brand Manager at Bulleit Frontier Whiskey. “Each expression is a testament to the meticulous craft of aging and our relentless drive to push the boundaries of American whiskey. We’re excited to introduce these whiskeys and look forward to unveiling even more innovations that reflect our commitment to whiskey craftsmanship.”

The Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Rye 10 Year Old is bottled at 91.2 proof and is now available nationwide for $49.99.

Town Branch Overproof Kentucky Straight Whiskey

Town Branch Distillery has also announced a new addition to its core range. The new Town Branch Overproof Kentucky Straight Whiskey is aimed at whiskey drinkers who like to make overproof cocktails.

The whiskey was blended from four distinct Kentucky straight whiskeys: a bourbon whiskey, a wheated bourbon whiskey, a double oak whiskey, and a rye whiskey. Each whiskey was aged between four and eight years, and the blend composition means that the whiskey has an average age of five to six years.

Bottled at 52% ABV (104 proof), the whiskey has aromas of “caramel, molasses, apricots, cocoa, oak and spice” on the nose. The palate is “deep oak, dried ginger, clove, cinnamon, honey, brown sugar, marzipan, raisins, and herbs.”

“We designed this whiskey with bartenders and the amazing drinks they craft in mind.  The 90/10 blend of bourbon to rye was formulated with the versatility in mind to be poured into any cocktail, which we hope inspires the continued exploration of new, higher proof creations,” said Mark Lyons, CEO and the seventh generation of the Lyons’ family heritage in brewing, distilling and cooperage.”

The Town Branch Overproof Kentucky Straight Whiskey is now available for an SRP of $39.99.

Pinhook Bourbon has unveiled the newest addition to its Vertical Series, which chronicles the aging process of Pinhook’s bourbon and rye whiskeys. The latest edition is a 9 Year Old bourbon blended from just 100 barrels.

The nose presents aromas of “seasoned cedar, cardamon, and preserved oranges.” On the palate, “sippers will be delighted to find brown sugar, glazed almonds, and brandied cherries.”

Bottled at 57.2% ABV, Pinhook Vertical Series 9-Year is available to purchase on Pinhook’s website and at selected retailers nationwide. The whisky has an SRP of $92.99.

Pinhook’s iconic Vertical Series has been showcasing the aging of bourbons and ryes since its introduction in 2019 with a four-year-old release. The Vertical Series will continue annually until the whiskey reaches 12 years old.

Last but not least, Milam & Greene has unveiled Unabridged Volume 3 as part of the Blender’s Reserve Collection which showcases limited edition bourbons. The series contains some of the rarest whiskey in Milam & Greene’s portfolio.

Crafted by award-winning Master Distiller Marlene Holmes and Master Blender Heather Greene, the Milam & Green Unabridged Volume 3 combines a number of straight bourbon whiskeys to create a perfectly balanced blend.

The whiskey is a blend of 49 barrels marrying the following:

  • A 10 year old Kentucky bourbon
  • A 9 year old Kentucky bourbon
  • A 6 year old Kentucky Bourbon
  • A 4 year old Texas malted-rye bourbon
  • A 4 year old Tennessee bourbon
  • A 3.5 year old Kentucky bourbon whiskey with malted rye

Clocking in at 118 proof, the whiskey can be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail.

“Customers love cask-strength whiskeys,” says Greene of Milam & Greene Whiskey. “They had been asking us for years to create one, and we answered by creating the Unabridged series. The trick was to do something full of flavor and personality while still retaining elegance. Judging from the reaction at this year’s Kentucky Bourbon Festival, we nailed it once again.”

Milam & Greene Unabridged Volume 3 is now available via the Milam & Greene website and selected US retailers for $94.99.
