Four Roses Distillery has announced the release of its 2024 annual limited edition: Four Roses 2024 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon. This will mark the 17th such release from the renowned bourbon brand. The whiskey is due for release on September 14th, 2024, for $220.

The Making of The Bourbon

Four Roses is famed for its 10 distinct bourbon recipes. Each recipe comprises one of two different mash bills and one of five different yeast strains. This makes for 10 unique recipes that can be used to blend high-quality bourbons with perfect balance.

The 2024 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon, specifically, is comprised of the following:

  • 12 Year Old Bourbon distilled from the OBSV recipe, described as “delicate fruit and rye”
  • 15 Year Old Bourbon distilled from the OESK recipe, described as “baking spice”
  • 16 Year Old Bourbon distilled from the OESF recipe, described as “light grain and mint”
  • 20 Year Old Bourbon, also distilled from the OBSV recipe

The resulting small batch bourbon has notes of “creamy vanilla, honey, and brown sugar on the nose, followed by flavors of ripe berries and tangy citrus on the palate,” according to a brand press release.

Brent Elliott, Master Distiller at Four Roses, commented: “Each year, we strive to bring a new and exciting experience to your glass by blending variations of our distinct recipes to create something you’ve never tasted before from Four Roses. This year, the recipes we hand-selected have created something truly vibrant, bright and unique, while still maintaining a nice delicate spice at the end.”
